We are happy to share yet another submission from our 2025 WGI Invite to Write Challenge!
Last summer, we asked our talented cohorts to create a piece on this prompt: Write a story where the end is also the beginning.
Next up, we are sharing Lavonian Willie’s piece entitled, “T’was’t Then.” It was written on September 6th, 2025.
Stay tuned, as we will continue posting the submissions throughout the winter!
T’was’t Then
Once upon, a Wishing Well,
A mighty thing, it t’was.
And then it wasn’t, once it t’was,
because, because, because.
In all that Time, it once begun, a silliness of trend.
And then it began, towards the &,
again, again, again.
For if it was, which it t’was’nt,
when did it all begin, of a thing, in between,
that is original sin.
Of when it t’was, two because, of everything unseen, of that it t’was, was because,
the gleam, the gleam, the gleam.
And if it was, which it was not, everything in trend,
it was headed straight four, since the door,
the end, the end, the end.
