We are thrilled to share this update on Omid’s winning Collyer script, The Stoning of a Temptress. He is set to begin shooting in January in the Mojave Desert. You can learn more about Omid and this project at this link.
Omid Iranikhah is an Iranian-American filmmaker whose work explores identity and the ways people navigate moral and emotional contradictions in their lives. His films often examine cross-cultural experiences and intimate family dynamics through a grounded, human lens.
His past projects include Farsi with Maman, a dramedy about an Iranian-American man’s complicated relationship with his native language; Coffee with Strangers, an ongoing web series about the surprising complexity that can emerge between people with opposing worldviews; and Don’t Be a Stranger, a family drama about addiction and reconciliation.
The Stoning of a Temptress represents a bolder turn in Omid’s filmmaking, merging social commentary with highly stylized genre filmmaking to expose how patriarchal violence transcends borders, cultures, and faiths.
