The Nora Ephron Book Club existed to build a love of reading among underserved, low-income populations, and expose young people to professionals for whom reading and writing led to successful creative careers. In a series of two-to-six session programs, in schools and community-based settings, well-known actors and writers read from significant works of literature, focusing on the power of story.
Since its inception in 2010, Book Club programs reached over 690 students at seven high schools in St. Louis, MO; Pittsburgh, PA; Watertown, NY; and Brooklyn, NY. Artists who participated in Book Club have included William Baldwin, Donnie Walhberg, Dean Winters, Katherine Erbe, Sal Rendino, Ato Essandoh, Tom Fonatana, Tom Kelly, and Kyle Bradstreet, among others. You can read about our events in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and at Lafayette High School in Buffalo.
